 Congressman Abraham J. Hamadeh (AZ-08) issued the following statement on the early morning ballistic missile attack by Iran on the Soroka Hospital in Beer Sheva, Israel: 

“The Iranian regime’s deliberate attack on an Israeli civilian hospital is despicable. Israel is a multi-ethnic/multi-religious country with Jews, Arabs, Bedouins, Muslims, Druze, and Christians as its citizens. They serve in the Knesset, they serve in the IDF, and they are a part of the fabric of society. Meanwhile, the Islamic Republic of Iran is a theocracy run by a crazed Ayatollah who brutally oppresses minorities, crushes dissent, and seeks the death of Americans.

The Iranian Regime continues to show the world their evil intentions. Israel continues to hit military sites exclusively while the Iranian regime targets civilian sites in Israel.

The Middle East deserves peace and that means a nuclear-free Iran. President Trump achieved what no president ever delivered in the region, PEACE – through the Abraham Accords.

I have full confidence that our Commander in Chief, President Donald Trump, will ensure the safety of our people and our interests.”

In addition to backing numerous “maximum pressure” sanctions bills, in February, Congressman Hamadeh introduced H.R. 1250, requiring the imposition of sanctions with respect to the officials, agents, or affiliates of Ansarallah, commonly known as the Houthis, for acts of international terrorism. 

In April, Congressman Hamadeh reached across the aisle to work with Congressman Brad Schneider (IL-10) to introduce the Promoting Education on the Abraham Accords for Comprehensive Engagement (PEACE) Act, which will strengthen U.S. diplomatic engagement by institutionalizing training on the Abraham Accords and other normalization agreements at the U.S. State Department.
