WASHINGTON DC - Congressman Abraham J. Hamadeh is encouraging budding artists to enter the 2025 Congressional Art Competition, which is a non-partisan, official event open to all high school students residing in Arizona's Eighth Congressional District.

"As a new Member of Congress, I am looking forward to sharing the work of Congressional District 8 ’s young artists with the rest of the world through the annual Congressional Art Competition,” stated Congressman Hamadeh.

BACKGROUND:

Each spring, a nation-wide high school arts competition is sponsored by the Members of the U.S. House of Representatives. The Artistic Discovery Contest is an opportunity to recognize and encourage artistic talent in the nation, as well as in the 8th Congressional District.

The Artistic Discovery Contest is open to all high school students in our District. This year’s award ceremony will be held at the Congressman’s District office in Surprise, located at 12515 W. Bell Rd, Surprise, AZ 85378 on Saturday April 26th at 1:00 p.m. This competition is open and extended to all students within Arizona’s 8th Congressional District in grades 8 -12 including those in homeschool, online school, or alternative learning programs.

All pieces submitted will be displayed in Congressman Hamadeh’s District office as they are submitted. The winning entries will be chosen by an independent panel of art enthusiasts from CD08.

The 1st place winner will have their artwork hung in the U.S. Capitol for one year.  The 2nd place winner’s art will be hung in Congressman Hamadeh’s Congressional Office in Washington, D.C. and the 3rd place winner’s artwork will be displayed at the Congressman’s district office in Surprise, Arizona.
