Congressman Hamadeh Welcomes Winner of the 2025 CD8 Congressional Art Competition
WASHINGTON, D.C. – This week, Congressman Abraham Hamadeh (AZ-08) welcomed Luke Wagner, who won the 2025 AZ-08 Congressional Art Competition, to his Capitol Hill office.
Congressman Hamadeh was proud to host Luke, his parents, Ying and Carl, and his brother Sean, during their visit to Washington D.C.
"It was a pleasure to host Luke and his family this week,” stated Congressman Hamadeh. “Luke has remarkable talent. I know I join all the residents of Congressional District 8 in offering congratulations to him on a job well done. I am grateful for the opportunity to spend time with Luke and his family. His parents are very clearly proud of their children and rightly so.”
Luke’s artwork, titled "Valor," is now hanging in the United States Capitol where it will remain for one year to seen by millions of visitors.
The artwork of 2nd place winner, Leighton S. Larson, from Mountain Ridge High School, will be hung in Congressman Hamadeh’s Congressional Office in Washington, D.C.
The artwork of 3rd place winner, Matilda Jordan, from Mountain Ridge High School, will be displayed at the Congressman’s district office in Surprise, Arizona.
“I am so impressed with the number of talented young artists we have in CD8,” stated Congressman Hamadeh. “I look forward to sharing Luke’s, Leighton’s, and Matilda’s work with the public.”
